Milestones for Maddox
CVI (Cortical Vision Impairment) 👀
CVI means the brain has trouble processing visual information. Because of Maddox’s congenital brain abnormalities, this is one of the areas impacted for him.
We’re honestly not quite sure how much Maddox can truly see, but we know it’s something.
He gives great eye contact—and it’s one of the top questions people ask after interacting with him. Tracking isn’t fully there yet, but he has made improvements. He will follow objects at times, just with a delayed response, which we’re learning is part of his CVI.
He receives vision therapy to support those brain-to-vision connections, and yesterday his therapist shared the sweetest update:
✨ Maddox was so alert and engaged- one of his best sessions yet!
Some of his vision favorites right now:
🍉 Dancing fruit videos
✨ His light vision board

We’re so proud of every step forward 💛
These moments remind us that therapy matters, connection matters, and he is always taking in more than we realize.

Thank you for cheering him on 🫶
