PAIGE’S CAMPAIGN: AN UPDATE FROM LOLA PRIMA

IT BEGAN ON A FRIDAY.
Eighteen-year-old Paige had just settled into her freshman dorm at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology when her mom, Mia, and Mia’s oldest sister, Lizette, arrived for a visit.
On Sunday, they hugged goodbye. Mia and Lizette then stopped to visit their godmother’s family in Providence, Rhode Island, before flying home to Tampa.
On Monday night, Paige received the frightening call: her mom had been detained by ICE at the airport.
The young college freshman immediately sprang into action. Her first thought was, “I have to get my mom out of the detention center.” She created this SupportNow campaign—and within only two days, your extraordinary generosity helped her reach the original $15,000 goal.
LOSS OF INCOME: As the family came to understand the situation more clearly, Paige realized that Mia’s sudden loss of income had created another urgent need: supporting her three children and paying their medical bills and essential household expenses.
With SupportNow’s knowledge and approval, we updated the campaign description. All funds raised through this campaign will go toward the children’s medical bills and the family’s essential household needs.
