Well, we're back at Riverbend this week for some upgrades and adjustments.  Two months ago, immediately following the accident, the surgical team put our very own Humpty Dumpty back together.  In the past couple of weeks, the original hardware they put in Ben's ankle wasn't quite healing the way we'd hoped, so they are adjusting things a bit.  Ben had surgery yesterday to remove the plate that was holding his ankle together (yes, we saved it!) and clean out the joint a bit.  Tomorrow, they'll clean it out again and put in some new bone putty.  Two weeks from now, he'll come back for ANOTHER surgery for a tibial plate and we're hoping that he'll be able to get back to bearing weight on his right leg again soon.  This has been such a lesson in patience.

For right now, Ben is in the hospital for a few days in a gorgeous room on the 8th floor with a view facing east, so he's watching the river flow, the birds swoop and dip, the sun rise, and the mountains show-off.

Our spirits continue to be buoyed by all of the support we've received from our friends and family.  We have been able to keep supporting Ben because you all show up to walk the dog, feed us, keep us company, drive us...We are so lucky to have you all!

We've got this, team!
