Hello and happy Friday! We don't have much new to report- we are down to two chemo treatments left for this cycle, which equates to one more day (8 p.m. tonight and 8 a.m. tomorrow).

Mason remains on morphine for his epigastric pain and has started taking oral Pepto and Tums to try to build up the lining of his esophagus to decrease the pain from stomach acid. It is still very difficult for him to eat, but we continue to push the milkshakes (with some Ensure mixed in). I was able to get him to eat a few pieces of watermelon this afternoon as well- they were cold, he took tiny bites, and it worked okay. His pain level this afternoon was a 2 out of 10, so it is much more controlled than it has been the last few days.

Alex came up to spend a little time with Mason this afternoon before he headed out for his lacrosse tournament for the weekend. It warmed this mama's heart to see him encouraging Mason on how to take the Tums, helping Mason move into his chair and then both of them laughing together at Family Guy (this is not a show I would choose for them to watch, but Mason is now addicted to the FX channel, and apparently "Family Guy Friday" is a thing). We're going to keep collecting these sweet, beautiful moments!

Mason's WBC continues to decline, which is great news. We received official word that his spinal fluid is CLEAR of leukemia- which is amazing news! He will continue to get a lumbar puncture monthly throughout treatment just to ensure that the leukemia does not move to the spinal fluid- but the procedure itself did not cause any side effects and Mason managed it well.

That's really all we have for today. We thank you for all the prayers and support- we know we are not fighting this fight alone and that means the world to all of us. Continued prayers for relief from pain, an increase in appetite and a little increase in energy would be great. Thank you all!
