Marley's Miracle
Three years ago this month, Marley was accepted into the N-Lorem Foundation, giving our family something every rare disease family deserves: a chance.
We’re probably still a year away from her medicine being ready. Some days, the waiting feels heavy. I get anxious. I want to hurry time along because I know how precious it is.
But even in the waiting, my heart remains full of gratitude. I know there are families who would give anything to be where we are, holding on to the possibility of a treatment for their child. I never take that for granted.
I pray for the scientists working to bring Marley’s medicine to life. For their hands, their minds and the answers they’re still searching for. I pray for the funding needed to carry this work across the finish line. I even pray for the rats helping researchers understand whether her medicine is safe.
I pray Marley stays strong while we wait. And I pray that one day, a diagnosis of NARS1 comes with a treatment option for every family.
“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” Romans 12:12
Three years of hoping, waiting and praying. We are anxious for what comes next, grateful for how far we’ve come and still believing in Marley’s miracle.
