We’re staring down a $100,000+ problem.

And let me just say it—I don’t got this. But I know He’s got this.
 
We had a wonderful visit with the incredible team who will be administering Marley’s miracle treatment—when the time comes. It was the first time in a while we’ve all been together, and it gave us a chance to catch up, confirm updated cost estimates, and talk through what this next chapter might look like.
 
Whew. It’s a lot to take in.
 
One of the hardest things to explain is why we personally have to pay so much for this treatment. Marley’s medicine is considered experimental for the first two years, which means insurance won’t cover anything beyond standard care.
 
While the medicine itself will be free for life (amazing, right?), there are still significant costs involved—administering the treatment, reserving operating rooms, covering anesthesia, overnight hospital stays, and more. As of now, the estimated cost for the first two years is $110,000-ish.
 
We want to be completely transparent about all of this, because as you probably know, we’re actively fundraising for Marley’s treatment. My sister has taken on the enormous task of applying for grants. Our doctor has submitted applications for additional support. And we’re continuing to brainstorm creative and hopeful ways to raise the money we need. (Did someone say community garage sale?? Save your donations for me!)
 
So yes—we are believing it before we see it.
