Marley Getting To Walk!
This week, we walked at Polo Park Mall. Marley was excited to be out—as usual! He proudly said “hi people” and “hi guy” to a mall worker while pushing forward in his walker.
A highlight was meeting a young man who happily showed Marley his AFOs with a cool soccer design. Marley was curious and went right over. We love these moments of connection—they remind us how powerful inclusion can be.

Our Fundraising Journey Continues
Fundraising truly feels like a job of its own. I’ve now written around seven grant applications, including two previous submissions to Variety, and this week I’m preparing a third to try again.
The Trexo continues to make a meaningful difference for Marley. It’s helped him learn the motion of walking, strengthened his muscles, and supported him as he transitioned from endurance mode to strength mode—where he works a little harder to stay upright. Most importantly, it lets him explore his environment hands-free, giving him a sense of independence we treasure.
Your support has been part of every step Marley has taken—literally.
---
Looking Ahead
We’ve made a difficult but thoughtful decision: we will complete one full year of Trexo use and then discontinue, as it has become too hard to sustain long-term. This choice wasn’t easy, but it was made with a lot of care and honesty about what our family can manage. Completing the year feels important—it allows Marley to finish strong and carry forward all the progress he’s made.
Here’s what we’ve received so far:
2 months free through the Trexmas contest — these were added on top of our 12-month lease, giving Marley 14 months total
$4,500 through grants, family, and community support.
Thanks to this support, we’ve already covered 7 months of the original 12-month lease.
We now have 5 months left to fund — $5,000 total.
The fundraising goal on this page will be updated to reflect this remaining amount.
---
Thank you for walking this journey with us and for cheering Marley on every step of the way. Your kindness, encouragement, and belief in him continue to lift us through the hardest decisions and the most joyful moments. 💛
