Happy Breast Cancer Awareness Month! Never imagined I'd be so connected to this campaign but it's October and here I am! Had a fabulous time at Camp-Mak-A-Dream in Gold Creek, Montana last week. There were approximately 70 women from all over the United States, all with various cancer experiences from newly diagnosed to in remission for over a decade. All so beautiful and courageous. The connections made were incredible and the sharing of stories and information was truly inspirational. The most unexpected moment was when I met not just one but TWO women who were also present in NYC on 9/11. I was working in Midtown that day at Sirius Satellite Radio (now SiriusXM). The picture here is of me and my new friend Diedre from Alabama. She volunteered in the days after 9/11 and is a recipient of the Victims Compensation Fund that was started as a result. She healthy and active remains active in assisting those touched by cancer.
