Marc’s 3rd round of chemotherapy went well today. We received great news that his CEA (Carcinoembryonic Antigen) level was down today! This is a blood test that measures a protein marker in your blood that detects cancer. Before chemo in March, his level was at 25.2 and today it was 11.5. That means the chemo is working well!! The flip side of the chemo working well is that his white blood cell counts are really low and so that we don’t have to skip the next chemo treatment, he will be receiving an injection of HGF (human growth factor), which will stimulate his bone marrow to produce more white blood cells. We are thankful for progress in the right direction! He will be in recovery mode for the next two weeks to prepare for his next chemo infusion on May 29th!
Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man! For he satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul he fills with good things. Psalm 107:8-9
