8/27/24 - Back on the Bike

Mackenzie completed her CAR-T therapy cycle today.  Every step of the way has risks, and fortunately, she managed to avoid any major setbacks this summer with thoughtful consideration to her medical plan and many, many prayers.  

The medical science is cutting-edge.  Her healing and progress thus far is incredible.  We are thankful she made it through CAR-T without complications.  She deserved a break after a difficult spring.  

She has regained strength in recent months, and we think she’s feeling better now than she has in a long time. On her 3rd week of CAR-T, she demanded to ride her bicycle!  It was the first time she’s been on her bike since January.  She’s walking, playing, breathing and starting to cycle again.  We hope swimming and returning to preschool are on the near term horizon.  She is on her way!
