Update on Mabry!

We finally got Mabry’s dates for her intensive therapy in Nashville! We’ll be there from November 7th–21st, and we are so excited for this opportunity. We are officially halfway to our goal, and we can’t wait to see what Mabry accomplishes during those weeks. 

 

We also had an appointment with Mabry’s eye doctor today. We’ve noticed a small concern with her eyes, so for now we’ll just be keeping a close watch on it. We also received confirmation that Mabry is missing part of her upper visual field, something we knew was a possibility because of her brain injury. While it’s never easy hearing things like that, we are incredibly grateful that her vision has been affected less than it could have been. 

 

Lately, Mabry has been battling an infection, and we’re hoping this new antibiotic clears everything up quickly. We would appreciate prayers for her healing, and for weight gain. 

 

Mabry is also working so hard to learn to talk. Because of where her brain injury is located, communication is a huge challenge for her, but she never stops trying. Every sound, expression, and attempt is a step forward. We truly believe she has so much to say, and we have all the faith that one day she will find her voice.
