I'm sorry I've been so terrible about updating this site. I completed chemo six weeks ago (yay!), and have moved on to the next phase of my treatment: immunotherapy every three weeks for the next two years.
In place of appointments that last eight to nine hours, my immunotherapy days run about three hours round trip, including a visit with my doctor or nurse practitioner, port access and vitals, the infusion itself, and, of course, waiting time in between.
I've found that the time spent with friends during the treatment day buoys my spirits and is a consistent highlight of my cancer adventure. Waiting is hard for me, and the companionship makes all the difference.
