The Road so far...

One month ago, Lukah and I set out for a quick MRI for suspected injury related to a backflip gone wrong causing Vestibular Migraines.  Nope, wrong path. Lukah was found to have a 4th Ventricular Mass and we we're sent to Primary Children's.  The mass was determined as a malignant Medulloblastoma after an 8 hour surgery to remove the tumor. For the next two weeks, Lukah underwent OT, PT and ST inpatient attached to an EVD which controlled the pressure in his brain as well as drained the excess cerebral fluid. Lukah met and exceeded every milestone. He's a fighter!. Last week he underwent a small surgery to place his port and a Lumbar Puncture.  Good news! Zero malignant cells in his spinal fluid.  That was the easy part.
 On Monday Lukah begins 12 - 16 months of radiation and chemo therapy. He will be traveling to SLC Monday - Friday with at least one 2-3 day inpatient stays at Primary per month.  Albeit he is a full sized human, he's 17 and under the care of pediatrics and can not recieve treatment at a closer location.  Right now, I am working a full time job and maintaining our household and company. We are in the pre-build stage of a 14 month construction project which will have Kaj on-site daily in a couple of weeks. We are grateful for the work we have to cover the unknown medical bills we have yet to receive, the treament cost and associated travel for the next year.  We are currently looking for what we call the Kemo car to safely and economically transport Lukah daily to SLC throughout our unknown winter conditions. Xander will be Lukah's personal chauffeur, but our current vehicles need to be in use to pay the bills.
