We made it. We are back on the Pediatric floor. She is tolerating her IV medication and her team is monitoring her arrhythmias. We are in the room we will be in while we wait here at the hospital. It's all in Gods hands as we wait. It could be a week, it could be a year.
Sadie has ups and downs, the downs are mostly that she's having a hard time finding something she actually wants to eat. Hospital food is a bit- tough. I do try to order her things from outside, I think by the end of this I'll know every Uber Eats or Door Dash driver in the area. Her appetite is just fleeting, the meds are tough on her and some days I do well to just keep her hydrated. I'm praying that now that we're back on the pediatric floor that she'll move around a little more here and maybe feel a bit more "at home".
The other aspect of this is Sadie's mental health. Physical we've got an entire team working on, but mentally it can be a marathon each day. The team here works hard to keep her engaged and I packed a suitcase of paint (which she's already emptied a third of), and coloring. She loves to craft, and she's found such joy in watching movies while she crafts. I'm going to try to see if I can manage to put together theme snacks with movies and themed crafts. If anyone has any ideas please send them my way.
Unfortunately we do have to limit her visitors, every day she is 12 hours away from transplant surgery. Every time she leaves this hospital room she has to mask up and we wash hands in and out of every room. Her nurse said today "we just want to make sure that when the time comes that she's as healthy as can be going into it".
Another step in her journey, we're inching along this path. I am so incredibly grateful that you're here with us. We stay in prayer and keep moving forward, I know there's so much yet to come but I'm grateful for today, and I'm grateful for every good moment.
