Shortly after getting the news for Levi’s need for a transplant, our world flipped even more sideways when my daughter’s school Silver Rail had an active shooter that took 4 lives and critically injured 2 more. The mental and emotional toll it has put on my shoulders has been extremely overwhelming.
We are currently waiting for Levi to have his transplant evaluation scheduled. He’s been getting 8+ bloody noses a day and will most likely need a vitamin K injection to help his blood clotting factor.
Its been amazing to see the community come together for the community of silver rail, however it’s honestly been really tough to be grateful for our community while grieving and also stressing over how I will get through everything with Levi.
Once Levi receives his evaluation it’ll just be a matter of waiting for a match. It could take weeks, months or a year. But when we get that call, we will have to drop everything in our personal lives to fly across the country.
