A roof?

Our roof is over 15 years old and unfortunately it is beginning to leak above our garage and I assume in places I cannot see. I'm afraid there will have to be some work done but I'm not experienced in this area at all. I have had a few estimates around $15,000. My house is about 1500 square foot but but we have a lot of room we live in Fort Wayne Indiana. I'm willing to sign up for programs or work it off somehow or find a way to claim it through Insurance. I'm not really sure how to take care of this but this winter has been nothing but rain and I'm afraid it's going to get worse quickly.
