Kinsley McLamore
Down to the minutes, these past 24 hours reminded us that good days can abruptly turn bad quick.
Tuesday:
8:45pm: Arrived at our local Northwestern Emergency Department awaiting a team to help assess Kinsley’s rising fever of 102
9:15pm: Pokes, IVs, labs, meds
9:45pm: Chest xray
10:00pm: Diagnosed with a virus and neutropenia. Doctor stated, “She has no neutrophils”, which in the cancer world means inpatient admission.
12:30am: Transported via ambulance to Lurie Children’s in Chicago
1:48am: Arrived and taken to the 17th floor for kids with Blood Disorders
2:30am: Trolls Movie, Mac & Cheese, and port accessed
3:00am: Cords, tubes, IVs are all connected to Kinsley’s body, and we tried to finally sleep among the beeps, lights, and checks.
Since that time, Kinsley has not had a fever and remains on isolation. She has painted a pumpkin, built some legos, and watched Trolls more than once. However, her white and red blood cells remain very low.
Please keep the positive thoughts coming, as we pray for Kinsley’s health to allow her to come home from Chicago and Rob’s flight to weather the journey home from Florida tomorrow.
