Formula and tube feeding delima.

Ken is doing much better and is just downright ready to go. The only thing keeping him in the hospital at this point is the ability to tolerate his tube feeding formula. We have tried several different ones, but they all either cause him to have issues with nausea and vomiting or cause his blood sugar to shoot through the roof. His formula was changed again today and he was told if this one does not work we have exausted all options and the next step is too switch to the PPN which would mean part or all of his nutritional needs would have to be given via his chemo port and only small sips of water or juice and a few small spoonfuls of pudding or jello every day to keep his swallowing muscles from freezing up and keep his stomach doing the bare minimum to keep functioning on a small level for medications to be administered through the feeding tube. We are crossing our fingers and praying this formula agrees with him and his system, and we can go home no later than Monday.
