I need your help - time is running out
I’m reaching out because I’m at a critical point right now. I’ve already completed microbiology and environmental toxicology this year, and environmental law is coming up next - but only if I can keep going. That’s a big “if” right now, and it’s honestly scary.
I’m 54 years old and I’ve spent 6 years working toward this bachelor’s degree in Natural Resources and Conservation. Six years of studying, working through assignments, learning skills I never thought I’d have at my age. I’ve gotten better at PowerPoint presentations, learned to work with databases and Word docs, and pushed myself through some really challenging coursework.
But here’s the thing - I’m running out of time and options. I’ve come too far to stop now, but I can’t move forward without help. Environmental law is the next step I need to take, and every class I complete gets me closer to becoming a wetland delineator and doing the work I’ve dreamed about for years.
Living here in Staples near the Mississippi headwaters, I’ve spent my whole life watching these waters. I’ve seen the runoff, the impact on water quality, and I know how important it is to have people who actually care about protecting these resources. That’s what I want to do with whatever working years I have left - make a real difference for our wetlands and waterways.
After raising my children, I finally got the chance to go back to school and pursue this. I didn’t think it would take 6 years. I didn’t plan for all the obstacles along the way. But I’ve stuck with it because it matters that much to me.
I’m asking for your help - whether that’s a donation or sharing this campaign with your network. Even just sharing helps get this in front of someone who might be able to help me finish what I started. I’m so close, but I can’t do this alone.
If you’d prefer to send a check instead of donating online, please reach out to me through GoFundMe, Facebook, or email and I’ll send you my mailing address.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for any support you can give.
