Thank you all for responding so quickly! The support we've received in just 24 hours is truly incredible. Josie's dream is becoming a reality right before our eyes.

I want to express our deepest gratitude to my mom, Christine, who has led this effort and has supported Josie since the moment she was born. None of this would be possible without you.

This week and last have presented significant challenges. Josie finished summer school on August 15 and won't return until September 4. While her teachers certainly deserve a break, it puts us in a difficult position as we seek daily activities to keep her engaged and stimulated.

Today, Josie and I did what we often enjoy during school breaks and weekends: we walked six laps at the Walt Whitman Mall. I aim for four laps, and we adjust based on Josie's mood. She loves to move, and being pushed in her wheelchair brings her joy. During our walks, I share stories about life, and Josie is an excellent listener! We also take time to observe those around us. Yes, we admit to being people watchers! Sometimes we count how many people are wearing band shirts, and other times we greet others like Josie who are walking to pass the time or get some exercise. Today, we saw representations of Guns N’ Roses, Def Leppard, and Pink Floyd.

Stay tuned for more updates.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Joe
