An immensely meaningful skill we have been working on this past year is Jolene's ability to go from laying down to sitting up on her own. (I challenge you to get down on the ground and try this! You'll notice just how many muscles are involved from head to toe, and how much balance and coordination it takes!)

During her physical therapy intensive in March, Jolene made SO much progress with this. By recruiting the same muscle groups through different activities, she was able to build strength, endurance, and coordination that translated directly to this all-important skill. An important step towards independence.

One of these days I'm going to leave the room and she'll have done it all by herself. I just know it!
