I am pleased to share that Marcus recently had a scan which showed that the chemo the doctors started him on this fall has been keeping his cancer in check. While they cannot cure his cancer, it isn't growing right now, and we are so relieved. And now we can focus on better addressing some of the chemo's side effects.

As you may be aware, Marcus has been losing weight since he started this chemo. It's difficult to eat when you already feel full before you start and most things taste terrible to you. Also, the chemo has made Marcus very tired for two weeks of the three week cycle. Taking Zinc helped many foods taste better for Marcus, but the first medication the doctors tried for appetite did not help.

So, we went into January with Marcus still losing weight. In January, they tried another medication, which made Marcus a bit more hungry, but not enough. However, given the results of his latest scan, the doctors were able to reduce his chemo dose in early February. They also increased the amount of the medication Marcus takes for his appetite. Since then, he has been less tired and more interested in food, thank goodness.

And we have had wonderful meals this month, thanks to meals and gift cards from you! This has not only enticed Marcus to eat more, it has been so helpful to me, as I have a major work event each week in February as well as teach a college course this spring, aside from my normal career coaching appointments and household/carpool tasks. We are so grateful for your support!
