Marcus, Catherine, and Scott Johansson
Breaks are really nice to have. As mentioned before, we had a wonderful spring break in Orlando. And shortly after, we enjoyed a visit from David's family who were on their spring break. They cheered for Scott & team from the soccer sideline, I got to show them around my former haunt (the Georgia Aquarium) and Scott had a great time on the thrill rides with them at Six Flags.
Marcus was able to join us for dinner and Scott's soccer game, but having recently had both chemo and radiation, he was very tired. If only he could get a break from treatment. After the radiation on his sternum, we were informed that a recent MRI indicates cancer growth again in his brain. So, next week he will endure radiation of several spots there. Also, we heard from his parents that his mom has decided not to do radiation, or any treatment. We understand of course, but it's hard to hear.
In Marcus' case, doctors are hopeful that this spot treatment will allow him to stay on his current chemo routine, not a harsher one. There is also a pill they might add on to his regimen, but it is not likely that it will covered by insurance. So, we hold our thumbs and wait.
