We have exciting news! Brandon will be coming home this weekend! We are so excited to have Brandon home so Jenna, Brian and Hudson can begin enjoying time as a family of four. However, we also know that Brandon has a long road ahead of him. We don't exactly know what his needs will be in the future, but for those that do not know Brandon has been diagnosed with PURA Syndrome. PURA Syndrome is a rare genetic disorder that affects neurodevelopment. It was first described in medical literature in October of 2014. PURA syndrome arises when there is a genetic alteration affecting one of a person’s two copies of the PURA gene. The defect can be a single letter spelling change within the gene, a small insertion or deletion within the gene, or even a larger deletion removing one whole copy of the gene (and potentially many neighbouring genes as well).

Many have asked how they can continue to support Brian and Jenna so for now, I've added additional meal support as well as house cleaning support for Jenna and Brian. We've arranged to have their house keeper start to come twice a month beginning in August.
