In 2024, a mammogram revealed a new development requiring further diagnostic scans. On August 14, 2025, a follow-up mammogram indicated a change that necessitated a biopsy, which I underwent on September 10. The procedure resulted in a hematoma and mild nerve pain, leaving the area tender.
On September 15, I was diagnosed with Stage 1 Triple Negative Breast Cancer, the most aggressive form, with a 9mm malignant carcinoma found in my right outer breast. An MRI on September 19 revealed an additional 46mm that is likely cancerous, which could elevate my cancer stage pending a subsequent biopsy.
On September 24 and again on September 29, I met with my plastic surgeon to discuss reconstruction options. A lumpectomy is a single surgery requiring radiation and preserves more nerve connections, but it may not ensure breast symmetry if more than 2 inches is removed. Therefore, a mastectomy is becoming a more probable option.
