If you have been following my updates, you know that the week after Chemo round 1 was very bad for me. I was most anxious for how I would feel after I went home from the hospital.
Right now I am 5 days post Chemo 2 and this time has been very different. I took what I learned from round 1 and have been taking anti-nausea meds around the clock and eating small meals every couple of hours. I also have a new recliner chair (thanks, Don!) that helps me get comfortable during bouts of nausea.
This time, I have a bit of nausea and intense heartburn, but I am functional. What I am feeling is aches (bone pain) and weariness. The bone pain is caused by the bone marrow going into over drive trying to produce new white blood cells after the chemo kills them all off. To me, it feels like the body aches you get when you have the flu. Unfortunately, everything I have read says these symptoms get worse with each round of chemo, so I have that to look forward to, lol. The weariness is just bone tired, my mind and body getting weary upon exertion and craving rest. I'll take it, though, over round the clock nausea any day.
So rest, I will.
