Hey!
We've just returned from an intensive for Zay in North Carolina. This intensive included 3 hours of OT/PT a day for two weeks and he ROCKED IT. Zay is a serious little fighter. He adapted to the time change, schedule shift, and hard work quickly. He connected with the therapists at the clinic really well, and we are already seeing progress! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for your prayer, care and support to make it possible for Zay to be able to attend this intensive. We would not be able to do this without the support of our community.

During intensives you tend to see some gains during the program, but most of the progress is seen in the months after as the brain has time to process new skills. This intensive was mobility focused but we have seen wins and gains in multiple areas already!

  • During the intensive he said his first whole sentence " I DID IT!" after a few exercises, and after some particularly difficult ones he said "All Done". Seeing the pride on his face was a priceless gift.

  • He sat ON HIS OWN for the first time!! He's sat before but it was still with mobility aids so this is a BIG BIG win.

  • He was able to sustain some kneeling positions that his body would not tolerate before. We've been working for 10+ months to get him to be able to get into what is called "tall kneeling" without discomfort and he was able to do it at the end of the 2 weeks!

We are excited to share more about his progress over the next weeks! Please continue to keep Zay and our family in your prayers
  • Continued healing
  • That he would catch onto skills and new skills would emerge
  • That we would continue to work the Home Program that that Intensive taught us how to do.
