After a crazy week and two days in the hospital, Iain is home and resting with his new bestie, the Blina pump.  Blinatumomab ( is a targeted immunotherapy drug. It treats B-cell  acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL) by linking your own T cells to cancer cells so your immune system can destroy them.
While most patients handle Blina well, it can have long term lasting affects that we will not be able to test for for almost 2 years.  B-cells are where your "remembered immunity" is kept.  So by getting this drug, there is a chance that many of the viruses and bacteria that Iains immune system has fought off will be forgotten, making infection high risk.
But with Christian and the other kids returning to Montana for the start of school, hopefully we can keep ourselves isolated easier to avoid getting sick!
