We honestly didn’t expect to be writing this update after only one week.

When we launched this campaign, we set an initial goal of $30,000 to help Mom and Dad through the period ahead when their care and recovery needs would overlap.

Because of all of you, we’ve already surpassed it.

In just one week, more than $38,000 has been raised for Mom and Dad.

We’re overwhelmed. Not only by the generosity, but by the shares, messages, phone calls, stories, and encouragement that have surrounded our family.

It has reminded us just how many lives Mom and Dad have touched over the years. We can’t adequately express how much that means to all of us.

And while reaching our initial goal is an incredible milestone, their journey is still very much underway.

Mom continues working on her strength, mobility, and independence. She is also receiving Botox treatment in her right hand this week in hopes of improving function and movement as she continues therapy.

Meanwhile, Dad’s spine surgery is less than a week away.

This next stretch is really what we’ve been preparing for:

Helping Dad safely through surgery and the beginning of his recovery while making sure Mom can continue moving forward with her own care and progress.

Because there are still many unknowns ahead, we’ve established a new milestone of $50,000. Anything raised beyond our original goal gives us additional stability and flexibility as we navigate their care over the coming weeks and months.

But today, more than anything, we simply want to say thank you.

To everyone who has donated, shared, reached out, checked in, or helped our family in any way - you helped us accomplish something we weren’t sure was possible when we started this.

Mom and Dad have a lot ahead of them. But they also have an incredible number of people in their corner.

We are sending all of you our love and gratitude.
