Jazmyne's Promise
The results of the CT scan have been reviewed. After careful consideration and prayer, critical decisions have been made.
Jazmyne will undergo surgery on Thursday morning to remove a lymph node from her throat and neck region. A biopsy will be conducted to determine whether the node is malignant (cancerous). If it is not, we may proceed with a transplant. If it is malignant, the next steps remain to be determined.
This lymph node carries a high risk of causing permanent nerve damage to Jazmyne’s lower jaw. The extent of the damage is uncertain, and there is no guarantee of it lasting permanently.
Without the removal of the lymph node, Jazmyne will be unable to proceed with the bone marrow transplant.
This week has been a real rollercoaster, and it’s only Tuesday. I’ve been super busy making sure we’ve covered all the bases and thought of every possible scenario. We’ve analyzed every single outcome, and it’s been a lot of critical thinking. Oh, and guess what? Jazmyne needs six more appointments before they can go ahead with the transplant. Trying to schedule all these appointments together on the same day at the same facility would be ideal. So, I’ve been juggling the office staff and getting continual “let me transfer you” calls, which has been a bit of a whirlwind.
This has resulted in a chaotic environment, and I have been juggling insurance approvals for appointments, which have been largely unsuccessful.
*Currently receiving infusion in preparation for tomorrow surgery
PRAYER REQUEST:
-Jazmyne would tolerate sedation with no complications
-all medical staff that would be in contact with Jazmyne would use wisdom and gentleness
-clear solid result from biopsy
-against any potential permanent facial damage to Jazmyne
