We’re still adjusting to hospital life and keeping up with Jazmyne’s medication schedule. Early this morning, she had a slight fever — and during chemotherapy, fevers always sound the red alarm. 🚨

When a fever appears, blood cultures are drawn immediately to test for possible bacterial infections. The lab checks these at 24, 48, and 72 hours. If no bacteria grow after 72 hours, she’s in the clear. But if any growth appears, extra antifungal meds are added, and we remain in isolation for safety.

Because the cause of the fever is unknown, we have to stay in isolation as a precaution. During this time, pain medicines that could mask a fever (like Tylenol) aren’t allowed — so if Jazmyne feels discomfort, we just have to wait it out until results come back.

Later in the day, Jazmyne developed a painful rash and burning sensation when one of her medications was administered. It took several hours for the pain to ease since she wasn’t able to take Tylenol, which can mask a fever.

So today we spent the day in isolation. We made the most of it — completed a 150-piece puzzle in less than an hour, decorated Jazmyne’s room with school materials and her memory verse, did some schoolwork, and she even made several modeling animals. 🧩🎨

By evening, she was finally able to freshen up with a shower, slip into her cozy jammies, and is now snuggled up next to her Papi — ending the day in comfort and love. 💛

PRAYER REQUEST:
*no bacteria found in cultures
*no fevers
*rash/pain sensation be gone
*rest
