Harper's Recovery
Harper has had a busy week! Monday I noticed some brushing and petechia so I took her to clinic and sure enough her platelets were 8 requiring a transfusion. Her WBC were up though and she is no longer neutropenic which we were very happy to see!
Tuesday she saw the eye doctor and is going to get new glasses which will hopefully be more comfortable for her. That afternoon she got her new orthotics and I think they give her a lot more stability. She came home to an American Girl Doll a cancer organization sent her as an end of treatment present!
Wednesday we went to the library which she loved! Then ran a few errands. It’s nice being able to do something so simple as taking her to some stores again.
Yesterday we met a few potential babysitters and met a few lovely women to watch her when I start working part time in October and before she is able to start school full time. Our afternoon was spent at an ice cream social for childhood cancer awareness. Harper enjoyed her ice cream and got to rock her new “Raise it for Harper” shirt.
Today we are back in clinic. Her hemoglobin is low today so we are waiting for a blood transfusion now. Hopefully this will be the last one she needs!
Overall we are grateful to get back to some more normal activities!
One other thing. If you happened to get a Raise it for Harper shirt and you wear it send me a picture! My email is lemartin40@gmail or text me 412-728–4354. I’d love to make a reel of everyone wearing it! I will also be sure to let everyone know after her scans on 9/23 the date her bell ringing is planned.
