We are about five weeks out from Hannah's g-tube placement, and she is doing really well. She has gained three pounds! A lot of things seem to be improving for her, and we're adjusting to our new routines. There's been a big of a learning curve, but overall it's heading in the right direction.
We are making slow progress with her ABA therapy, as well. She also had an evaluation for an intensive in Cleveland that we hope to do sometime in the next several months, if we can work out the schedule. It's at a facility that has some equipment and tools that we don't normally have access to, so we're hopeful about that.
On another note, I had my CT scan about four weeks ago, and all looked great. I had labs about three weeks ago, and those look about as expected. Some numbers are still recovering, but that's normal. I also had my annual mammogram, which went a little haywire, as they found a cyst, but I will repeat in six months to see. The good news was that because I still have my port in place, I had my mammogram done at the cancer center, and the radiologist read it in real time, so the tech just kept running out of the room and coming back, taking more pictures, going back out, returning to do an ultrasound, coming back, etc. Under normal circumstances, this would have been several visits separated by weeks in between where I'd have time to worry. I am so grateful that it was done this way, and I wish that that could be the standard. I hope to get my port out soon.
We have a busy several months coming up with work, travel, Hannah's intensives, and more. But we're so grateful for a more "normal" year and looking forward to spending time together this summer. And, of course, the fall will bring big changes as Hannah enters kindergarten. Thank you for all of your support as we navigate all of these things!
