Hi everyone!
Little delayed on the update, but we’ve finished our 40 HBOT treatments and are back home!
Gus is doing great, and we’re continuing to see the benefits!
One of the newest being that he’s on the move! His gait trainer was delivered a couple of days ago, and he’s figuring out how to take steps on his own. Before HBOT treatments, he would throw himself backwards, which he’s no longer doing! Seeing him be able to move independently- there are no words to describe it!!
Things we’re noticing/continuing to see with Gus-
- He will reach his left hand up to try and grab things, which he has never done before
- He is averaging 8-10 hours of sleep, which has been amazing !
- His frustration/irritability has decreased substantially
- His Moro (startle) reflex is not triggered as easily
- He is taking steps in his gait trainer on his own
- He is able to pick things up/grasp things better
- He loves being part of conversations and has started repeating words he hears us say
- When we went to the park and he was in the swing, he was able to keep his head controlled much better than he ever has
These are just some of the wonderful things we are seeing so far!
Next step: getting an in-home chamber so we’re able to continue the treatments
Going to Louisiana to see Dr. Harch for hyperbaric oxygen therapy was without a doubt the best thing we could have done for Gus ! Truly has been life-changing for him.
THANK YOU, all, for your donations, words of encouragement, endless support and all of the prayers! You have all helped in changing the trajectory of Gus’ life, and we will forever be grateful for that 🥲💚
