Hey everyone! I wanted to take a moment to explain a little more about why we’ve chosen to travel to the other side of the world for treatment for Grasley. To date, Grasley has completed three physical therapy intensive programs at the Now I Can Foundation in Orem, Utah. She has made huge gains there, and we are so thankful for that experience and hopeful we will continue working with them in the future.

That said, Grasley’s development in occupational therapy (OT) has started to plateau, which is something we really want to address. OT is incredibly important for her fine motor skills, especially involving her left hand, which is mostly paralyzed. The Center of Movement specializes in treating children with hemiplegia and offers an outstanding OT program tailored specifically to kids like Grasley.

In addition to OT, their intensive also includes physical therapy (PT), hydrotherapy, and Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI). While there are OT intensive programs here in the States, they are extremely expensive. Surprisingly, traveling all the way to Australia to attend the Center of Movement is actually more affordable and includes more therapies than many U.S.-based options.

We are beyond excited to give Grasley this incredible opportunity and are praying for big breakthroughs and continued progress in her development. Thank you all for loving and supporting our girl the way you do 🤍
