Help Ethan Walk with Trexo Robotics
Lots happened this last week and hoping it all falls in place and we can order the Trexo very soon.
We have been working to see if we can get the rifton walker that the Trexo robotic legs attach to through the ADP program, I am hopeful we can and we are hoping for an answer on this early next week. The cost of the rifton is $5,000 and that’s on top of the $40,000 for the legs, so we are really hoping we can get this covered.
We have also made an appointment to have Ethan fitted for a new AFO for his left leg. We need one that is hinged on the ankle to allow him to walk. I can’t believe I am saying to walk 😀. When we trialed the Trexo in November his current AFO didn’t give and as a result he couldn’t get the range of motion and his shoe kept falling off. A single AFO is close to $2000, fortunately this will this be covered by ADP and our insurance.
On the not so good news side unfortunately we were declined for a couple of grants we applied for as we do not live in the US. We are also finding that we cannot apply for many as he is 21, but we will keep trying.
Finally, back to good news. We have had a few people reach out to us directly to give us donations. Thank you so much to those people, we really appreciate it. I wanted to make sure we reflect this so I reduced the support goal by $300!
Please help us get to our interim goal to cover the cost of the first year lease for the Trexo by continuing to share the link to the fundraiser on your social media channels and get the story out.
Thanks and take care
