George Hoye
Today was a long day.
George had an impella surgery today -- its a catheter based heart pump that will help his heart to rest and get to the LVAD surgery. It took much longer than anticipated. He is now on a breathing tube for the night to help him rest. His ef or ejection fraction was 0% on the left and 10% on the right -- when your heart pumps the blood out it doesn't completely empty. It fills up and then the heart muscle pumps out a certain percentage of blood. A healthy normal range is between 50-70%.
George is a fighter and his care team is amazing.
The family is so grateful for the support and prayers.
Have you heard of Brother Columba? More on him tomorrow - we need an intercessor for George's heart.
