Shiloe first. Shiloe had her full body MRI done and she’s free of blood clots which is great! The doctor she saw said she needs to be wearing compression garments, and that in a few months once her body has recovered from the blood loss they are going to do surgery to hopefully improve Shiloes quality of life. But I am not even going to try to explain this surgery because I’ll fail miserably so contact Ashley if you want more info on that! They were able to discharge Shiloe tonight and so Shiloe is heading back home to continue recovering!
Rylie had her second MRI on her back. This is a lot to get through so bear with me. When Rylie was at the ER Tuesday before being brought down to Children’s they did her first spinal tap, during that spinal tap they caused damage, which was seen on this second MRI that Rylie had today. Their were 5 separate puncture marks She has extreme swelling and fluid build up and that is what’s causing her severe pain. As of right now Rylie is still on IV pain meds to control her pain. Because of this, doctors thought her pain was being caused by the infection which they thought was meningitis. So they were treating her for the wrong thing and also treating her with the wrong antibiotics. The antibiotics she is on now are still working, her numbers are still coming up. But now because of the damage done to Rylies back she has to see another doctor to determine if their is nerve damage from her first spinal tap… and she can’t go home until she is on oral pain medication, they tried taking her off IV pain meds today and she was still in so much pain they had to put her right back on. Ashley is pretty frustrated with the ER up here in Greeley because they were not honest at all in how many times they tried to do Rylies spinal tap, and they didn’t give her an option to tell them to stop trying and let children’s do it. If they had they might have been able to go home sooner and not have needed some of the testing and images that have been done on Rylie. So we are praying that Rylies pain starts to get better and she’s able to come off the IV. And that their is no nerve damage done to her back🙏🏽
