“Garrett is back at home with the others. I’m waiting for Viv to be discharged from Le Bonheur. We will stay in provided housing until our first appointment at St. Jude on Monday. I’m very grateful my mom will be able to stay with me until Garrett and the kids are able to come back.
I will share a little more so all of you lovely people can pray for specifics.
Vivian’s surgery last night was to take a biopsy of the tumor and to install what is called an Ommaya. It will act as a port to deliver chemo straight to her brain in some form or fashion. It’s all very confusing.
I want to be clear about what her surgery was because it was not to remove the tumor. Dr. Klimo who is renowned around the world says that at this time her tumor is inoperable. It is too wrapped up in her brain stem. There is a small possibility for surgery to remove it if we can get it to shrink?? Again, all very confusing. Yet, I understand crystal clear.
Prayers must continue. And I’m trusting in the thousands that I know are praying because at times I can’t pray or even move.
But one thing we know is that God is good. We’ve never questioned and we never will. What Satan can’t seem to understand is that either way we win. Vivian belongs to Christ Jesus, baptized in his name, and confirmed into the church of Christ taking on the name Saint Gianna Molla. We stand firm on the promises of Christ.
However, we must not cease praying. As I read through Matthew’s gospel thumbing through every story of healing it occurred to me that Jesus NEVER said no to a healing.
“And behold, a leper came to him and knelt before him, saying, “Lord, if you will, you can make me clean.” And Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, “I will; be clean.” And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.”
Matthew 8:2-3
Lord, if you will, you can heal our Vivian.
So, now we wait. We wait for the words, “I will.””
