Terms of Service
Last updated August 26, 2026
Using Emergency Contact means agreeing to what follows. It is short on purpose.
What this is
Emergency Contact turns a questionnaire into one printed page for your fridge, with a QR code for each person on it. It is provided by SupportNow, free of charge. There is nothing to buy and we take no payments.
What this is not
This is not a medical service, and it is not an emergency service. It gives no medical advice, and nothing in it should be used to decide on treatment. In an emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number first, always. Do not rely on this app to summon help — it cannot.
We do not guarantee that the site will be available, or that a card will load, at any given moment. A printed card works without us, which is why the product is a piece of paper.
Your account
You must be 18 or older to hold an account, and you must be a parent, guardian, or someone otherwise responsible for the people you enter. Keep your password to yourself; anything done through your account is treated as done by you. Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has got in.
Building a card without an account
You can build an entire card before signing up. Until you do, that card belongs to a cookie in your browser and nothing else. If you clear your cookies, use a different device, or use a private window, that card is gone and we cannot recover it — there is nothing identifying it as yours. Making an account is what fixes this.
What you are responsible for
- Accuracy. A card is only as good as what is in it. Doses, allergies and phone numbers change, and keeping them current is yours to do. We send a reminder at six and twelve months; that is a nudge, not a guarantee.
- Permission. Only enter details about other people — a grandparent, a sitter, a doctor — where you are entitled to. By entering them you confirm that you are.
- Where the paper goes. A printed card can be read by anyone holding it, and so can any QR code on it. Put it where you would put a spare key. If a copy goes astray, revoke it from your card page: that stops every printed code working at once.
What you may not do
Do not try to reach a card that is not yours, guess or enumerate access tokens, scrape the site, disrupt it, or use it to store anything unlawful. We rate limit and block addresses that behave this way.
Your content stays yours
Everything you enter remains yours. You give us only the permission needed to store it, display it on your card, and show it to whoever scans one of your codes. We claim nothing else, and we do not sell it. The site itself — its design, code and words — stays ours.
Ending it
You can stop using the service and ask us to delete your account at any time by writing to [email protected]. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms or puts other people at risk.
Liability
The service is provided as is. To the fullest extent the law allows, SupportNow is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from using it, or from information in a card being wrong, out of date, unavailable, or seen by someone you did not intend. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Some places do not allow these exclusions, in which case they do not apply to you.
Changes
We will email account holders before any material change takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means the new terms apply.
