Part of what comes with Eiley having SMA is that she doesn't have the reflexes to catch herself. Anytime she falls, she goes down like a ton of bricks with no means to protect herself. That makes her father and me so jumpy all the time! 
About a month ago, Eiley was just standing and trying to turn and fell and hit the hardwood floor and chipped a tooth. Well, today, we took her to the dentist to get that fixed. She was so brave!! 
I know she will have falls in the future, and kids fall and chip their teeth all the time. However, with Eiley, when she falls, it can happen even if she is just standing and loses her balance, or the surface she is walking on is uneven. 
We are hoping this could be another way stem cells can help her gain great strength to protect herself.
