Dominic Gonzales
Today we sat and met with Dominic's doctors. A lot of information was shared. So much is happening every day, as of now:
1. Dominic suffered from several strokes on both sides of his brain. They do not foresee any further strokes.
2. Dominic does have a critical brain injury that they will continue to monitor; the only true way to determine permanent damage is to let him heal and watch his progress.
3. His pneumonia is under control, and he is on antibx for that.
4. He has not had any seizures; this is a great sign. They were concerned that some of his movements were seizures!
5. His ICP (brain swelling/ pressure) has remained stable, and they will be removing the brain monitor soon!
6. Ortho plans to work on his right leg and femur soon; he will be getting all the tubes out of his mouth and placed in better areas to prevent the risk of infection and also to make him more comfortable.
We have a long road ahead; we continue to say that Dominic is a fighter and has so much to fight for! He is a true family man and makes a lasting impression on everyone who has ever met him. We know he will keep improving every day!
AGAIN thank you for all the support! Josiah and Alexah are safe and have everything that they need. We have been able to make that happen due to donations! Some of you may know that Alexah is celebrating her 10th birthday this week, and it is very hard without her dad present. He has never missed a birthday, and we know he is with us in spirit.
