Deana's Cancer Journey
I had the first treatment yesterday morning. They always do pre-meds first, the steroid, nausea meds, Tylenol, and Benadryl. I asked for hydration so I got a liter of saline. They have to do that before the Enhertu because there is already saline in the Enhertu so they don't want more. That means my treatment will take longer but that's ok. I would rather have the hydration make treatment longer than end up in the ER like I did twice in 2023. I totally passed out during most of the treatment. Right when I woke up a chaplain came by asking questions. She apologized for staying much longer than she anticipated, she said I am very enjoyable to talk to.
I did fast before treatment for 19 hours and then after treatment I didn't eat until 7. I felt pretty icky all day. I felt like I had heartburn in my chest and throat. My stomach was gurgley and had a headache. That is something that is different from the first treatments I had. Maybe that means the Enhertu is working in my head? I will have scans again in January to see how well it is working. I slept a lot yesterday and still went to bed at 8:30pm, woke up at 5:15 this morning. So far no nausea but I do have nerve tingles. If I end up with neuropathy again, I know exactly what to do to get rid of it. There is a tea called Genuine Essiac tea that works great. I will have to get the one that doesn't have red clover in it, since that herb is estrogenic and I am estrogen positive. That tea is great for many ailments and diseases.
An old parent from 2008 I am friends with on Facebook is a new primary teacher. He taught high school before and is finding it a bit challenging. I told him connection is so important with students. When that is established it is much easier. I think about my students and I have 3 students that email me a lot to say hi, tell me they miss me, and what they are up to. I have some awesome parents that pray for me and check up on me often. I love it. I have always told my students once they are in my heart it is forever. I not only care about my students but their family also. We are in this together. I don't just teach academics, I teach them to be good at home as well. I truly love teaching and can't wait to get back to it.
I am attaching a picture of my view during my treatment. I was so thankful to see that. I am a HUGE natural girl and this is relaxing to me.
Thank you for all your thoughts, prayers, texts, FB messages, calls, and donations.
Love to you all!
