David is out of surgery and did well. He had his external fixator removed. He really has had a miracle. He was alert and oriented and able to sign his own consent for surgery. 
The next phase will be very tough and painful but he is cleared to begin therapy. He will only be “toe touch weight bearing “ on his left leg for another couple of weeks. His attitude is positive. He has been through withdrawal, being struck by a car and he will come through this.
