Dana traveled to Duke Thursday–Friday this week with Josh, her mom, and her dad. She had an MRI, and the scans were clear — YAY!!! 🎉 We are beyond grateful. Any lingering symptoms she’s experiencing (lightheadedness, headaches, fatigue) are expected since she’s been through a lot, and her doctor shared that she is truly progressing well. Hearing those words brought so much relief and hope. 

 

Dana has also bravely agreed to participate in a cutting-edge clinical trial involving immunotherapy. She’ll return to Duke in March or April (scheduling will be finalized in the next few days) for a day of Friday appointments to clear her for a full week of inpatient treatment the following week. After that, she’ll continue returning every few weeks, and then monthly for the foreseeable future. While this road isn’t easy, this treatment is the very best option and gives her the strongest chance to ensure there’s no recurrence. She’ll be the youngest patient, without recurrence, to participate in this clinical trial so they think she’s be able to conquer this! She’ll be joined by her support team, and is excited to conquer it!
