Fighting for Change; Dalton's Law
It has been five days since we laid Dalton to rest.
Each day has brought its own challenges.
Each day has brought its own challenges.
The nights are still the hardest—haunted by phantom hospital sounds that won’t let go. Sleep only comes in pieces, often with his dog and Chase stuffed animals held tightly in my arms, trying to feel close to him in any way I can.
We are deeply grateful for all of the support we’ve received. Right now, we need help continuing to share Dalton’s story.
All proceeds raised are going toward legal expenses and toward raising awareness—so that real change can happen in how children are treated in hospitals, and so that parents’ rights are no longer overshadowed by medical authority.
Parents should have the right to make decisions for their children. We should be able to choose to bring our children home and care for them there. It should never become a fight between parents and medical staff over what is best for a child.
Dalton’s story matters. And we will continue to fight so that his life creates change.
