Meal Train Update for My Sister & Her New Baby

I wanted to give a little update on my sister and explain why we are asking for donations right now instead of just meals.

My sister recently left a really bad situation and had been staying with a friend who offered to help take care of her and the baby. Unfortunately, that situation became very difficult. She was being yelled at and argued with and was expected to do things around the house that she physically isn't capable of doing right now.

She had a C-section less than a week ago and is still recovering while taking care of a newborn. Things got to the point where her friend told her she needed to pack up her things and leave, and she was only given about 2 hours to do it. Because she had so little time, she wasn't able to get everything, including all of the groceries she had already bought to last her and her baby for the month.

She had to call family members at 1am to come help her move her things while she had her baby with her. It was an incredibly stressful situation, especially being less than a week out from a C-section.

She is currently staying with our grandma, where she at least has a safe place to recover. Her housing situation beyond that is still up in the air, which is why actual meals may not always be an option for her. This Meal Train is also being shared in areas outside of Mason City, where she is currently staying, so we are asking for monetary donations to help her buy groceries and formula instead.

There are already 3 adults living at my grandma's, and there is limited space in the refrigerator, so she won't be able to buy and store a full month's worth of groceries all at once. She will need to buy things in smaller amounts throughout the month, along with making sure she has enough formula for her baby.

If anyone is able to donate, even $5 or $10 would help more than you know. We are just trying to make sure she has food, formula, and one less thing to worry about while she heals and takes care of her baby.
