We had a good first week at home with Covey and felt like we were finding our groove! And then big sis got a little sick, then Steven and I got hit too. We hoped and prayed it would miss Covey, but the middle of last week it hit him. Thursday early afternoon I ended up taking him to the emergency department. I was up most of the night with him concerned that his o2 saturation was sitting a little low. After a breathing treatment and some meds, I was able to get him stable and comfortable enough to get a few hours of sleep. By late morning, I had him at the max amount of oxygen that I could give him and he was still satting on the low side, he had developed a fever and fevers always make his heart rate skyrocket. The fever wasn’t responding to medication and I couldn’t get his heart rate below 200, so I made the decision to take him in.

He is pretty uncomfortable, but as long as his fever is controlled and has frequent breathing treatments, his vitals have remained stable. Just like last time, only time will tell. Thankfully he’s back with the icu team that knows him well and we already have a good treatment plan in place.

Asking for continued thoughts, prayers, and good vibes. Please share as we have no idea how long this stay will last and could use all the support we can get. Thank you all for continuing to love and pray for Covey, it means the world to us.

And on top of everything, we’re also moving this week. 🫠 Heaven help us.
