Hi Everyone!!
This has been quite the two weeks. While the surgery went well, the recovery is long and seems slow. The cancer side is still super tender and painful at times. The doctors are very pleased though and said everything looks great. Initially, there was a lot of nerve pain, which was paralyzing at times. It would go on for an hour sometimes. Thankfully that seems to be subsiding.
Now for the pathology report…..I’ll start with the BEST NEWS!! Clear margins in the tissue and clear lymph nodes!! Yay!! Cancer free!!! HOWEVER…..upon the tissue analysis, they did find residual tumor that measured around 11 millimeters. Of course that’s out of my body, but means that the chemotherapy wasn’t 100% effective. Because of that, I will need to take extra precaution and take an oral chemotherapy drug for 6 months. This was the part that was heartbreaking for me. Radiation hasn’t been ruled on one way or another either at this point. I’m hoping I hear back about that in this next week. Needless to say, it continues to be a rollercoaster of emotions. With all of that being said, I’m focusing on the fact that the cancer is gone, and there IS an end in sight!! I’m so grateful for that!!
In the meantime, I’m taking full advantage of the time off and soaking up all of the moments with the girls! These pictures are from Katelyn’s Senior Night Volleyball game this past week!! It was a tear jerker to say the least!!
As always, I’m also grateful for everyone’s support, in prayer, gifts, meals, all of the things. It’s really kept me strong and focused on healing!
Thank you! Thank you!! Xoxoxoxo
