Chris Begins Rehab Next Week!

We are happy to share that Chris is making progress. All IVs for medicine and fluids have been removed. He's getting ready for move to rehab at the in patient facility. They will continue evaluating him today to make sure he is ready for the transition. 

Last night, Chris had a great night's sleep with no machines beeping and so did the girls and I at home. 
The facility contact stopped by yesterday and explained how everything would work. She’s hoping they don’t rush us into moving quickly but is looking forward to Chris getting started. With his positive attitude and increasing ability to ask for help he is a great candidate for the position he is in. She explained that someone from the team will be able to bring him to the house to see what changes we need to make to accommodate access for Chris. It will be nice to see him in the house even if just for a couple of hours. 
We are anticipating a little relief as his routine next week will be very structured. Recovery will begin right away, and we're happy for the new schedule. There is a lot to consider and the staff, trauma teams and recovery teams are so pleased we have a huge support network as we are going to need it. We’ll be packing up his gym clothes to take to the new location. I know he’ll be very happy to be out of a gown. Or ‘mini skirt’ as the staff has dubbed it for him. 

We thank everyone who has helped us with prayers and services. We ask for continued support and prayers as Chris continues his journey to get better in the weeks to come. We will share more good news as it happens.
